Funeral Services will be held at 11: 00 A.M. Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Mrs. Willow Dean McBride, 84, the former Willow Dean Huckaby. Mrs. McBride, a native and long-time resident of Church Point, died early Tuesday morning, February 21 at her residence. Monsignor Jefferson J. Deblanc will conduct the services with interment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery adjacent to the Church. Survivors include her beloved husband of sixty-four years, Robert "Bob" McBride of Church Point; a son, Michael McBride and wife Sandra of Fulshear, TX; three daughters, Jan Mayronne and husband Thomas of Covington, LA, Dana Sexauer and husband Matthew of Franklin, TN and Jill Myers and husband Philip of Church Point; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Rosella Delahoussaye Huckaby; a daughter, Kim McBride; three grandchildren, Neil and Emily Mayronne and infant baby Myers; a daughter-in-law, Shellie McBride and four sisters, Mary Lee and Melba Huckaby, Violette Sibille and Wynona Bellard. The family requested that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 3:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 22 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Thursday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held there at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday by Bob Guidry. A long-time employee of the Acadia Parish School Board and volunteer at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, Mrs. McBride was well-known, loved and respected by her family, friends and community.
