Church Point, LA:   A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point for Mrs. Willie Mae Olivier, 80, who passed away at 6:59 AM Saturday, August 31 at The Carpenter House in Lafayette; LA. Fr. Brian Harrington, Pastor of the Church, will be the Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the Burial Rite immediately after in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum on Hwy 35.

Willie Mae, a life-long resident of Church Point, was the daughter of the late Theodore Lavergne and the former Lorena Elkins. Mrs. Olivier was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who was often referred to by her grandchildren as, "The Legend".

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Mickey Olivier of Church Point; her son, Donavon Troy Olivier and wife Tina of Church Point; five grandchildren: Heather Olivier, Chelsey Savoy Benoit and husband Jameson, Taylor Olivier Ardoin and husband Andrew, Tyler Olivier and Blake Savant; five great-grandchildren: Malery Monceaux, Anna-Grace Lavergne, John-Thomas Lavergne, Haizlyn Benoit and Myles Benoit; one great-great-grandchild, Luca Hayes Drehemsis and one brother, Daniel Lavergne and wife Linda of Church Point. Preceding her in death were her parents; her daughter, Vonda Kay Olivier Savoy; her sisters, Joyce Lavergne, Lelia Lavergne and Donatile Thibodeaux and her brothers, Levins Lavergne, Wilbert Lavergne and Irvin Lavergne.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home on Monday, September 2, from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM and continue on Tuesday from 8:00 AM until the time of the Mass.
