Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at Guidry Funeral Home in Church Point, La. for Willie Burleigh, 82. Mr. Burleigh, a native and long-time resident of Shuteston, La., died at 7:38 A.M. Monday, November 3 at Senior Village Nursing Home in Opelousas, La. Father Stephen Ugwu will conduct the services with interment following in the St. Charles Cemetery in Grand Coteau, La.

Survivors include his wife, Emeline Smith Burleigh of Shuteston; a son, "Ron" Burleigh and wife Jo Ann of Sunset, La.; a daughter, Debra Faul and husband Terry of Opelousas; a brother, Ludovic Burleigh, Jr. and wife Tanya of Scott, La.; three sisters, Shirley Bergeron of Church Point, Georgia Thibodeaux and husband Warren of Lafayette, La. and Gloria Robin of Opelousas; three grandchildren: Ryan Faul, Eric Faul and wife Mallory and Olivia Burleigh Kler and husband Chris and four great-grandchildren: Madison, Jack and Cohen Faul and Harrison Kler.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ludovic Burleigh, Sr. and Ann Lanaux Burleigh and a son, Daryl James Burleigh.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 5:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. on Monday and continue from 8:00 A.M. Tuesday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Monday by Deacon Bryne Winn.

Mr. Burleigh was the manager of the Yam Drive-In, the Delta Theater and the Cinema Four in Opelousas for over thirty years and served as a jailer for the St. Landry Sheriff's Department for over fifteen years.
