Church Point, LA:         A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:30 PM Friday, June 4, 2021 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Whitney Joseph Carrier, 85. Mr. Carrier, a native and resident of rural Acadia Parish near Church Point, passed away Wednesday Morning, June 2 at his residence. Reverend Patrick Broussard, pastor of the church, will be the celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the committal services in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery adjacent to the church.

He is survived by his long-time companion, Joyce Carrier of Church Point; a son, Kevin Carrier and wife Patrice of Prairieville, LA; a stepdaughter, Brunella Mooney of Houston, TX; a brother, Rodney Carrier and wife Lois of Carencro, LA; two sisters, Patty LeJeune and husband Roland of Church Point and Charlene Degueyter of Lafayette, LA; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and his extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Miller Carrier; his parents, Charles and Annie Benoit Carrier; two daughters, Tammy and Adeline Carrier; a stepdaughter, Sherry Oakley and two brothers, Ronald and Joe Carrier. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 12:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Thursday, June 3 and continue from 8:00 AM Friday until the time of services. A rosary will be recited in the funeral home at 6:00 PM Thursday by Deacon Byrne Winn.  Mr. Carrier was an oilfield warehouse manager and member of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church for a number of years. Truly loved, he will be missed by his family and his beloved dog, "Stewie". Guidry Funeral Home, 219 N. Broadway St., Church Point, LA is in charge of final arrangements.
