Church Point, La. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday, January 16, 2012 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point for Wesley "Wes" Miller, 83. Mr. Miller, a native of Cankton, La. and currently a resident of Prompt Succor Nursing Home in Opelousas, La., died at 2:40 A.M. Friday, January 13. Monsignor Jefferson J. DeBlanc will conduct the services with interment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Church Point.

Survivors include his wife, Marlene "Snooky" Miller of Opelousas; his son, Cecil Miller and wife Vickie of Broussard, La.; his daughters, Cassandra M. Shore and husband Francis and Marcella Miller-all of Baton Rouge, La. and Celine M. Guillory and husband Clyde of Opelousas; his stepdaughters, Kerry H. Fontenot and husband David of Opelousas and Michelle H. Faul and husband D.D. of Sunset, La.; a brother, Leslie Miller and wife Mary of Saltillo Miss.; a sister, Mary Lou M. Broussard and husband Murphy of Sunset; two grand children, seven step grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and six step great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ethel (Richard) Miller; his siblings, Leman, Lester, Monique and Joyce Miller and Roma Meche; his stepdaughters, Becky Hebert and Charlene H. Pitre; a granddaughter, Heather Miller and his parents, Clovis and Agnes (Savoie) Miller.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 1:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Sunday, January 15 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Monday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Sunday by Monsignor DeBlanc.
Pallbearers will be Cecil Miller, Francis Shore, Clyde Guillory, David Fontenot, D.D. Faul and Kenny McKinney. Honorary Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Chris Miller, Jacob Higginbotham, Jarid Fontenot and Charles Pitre.
