Church Point, LA Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Wanda David Meche, 61, the former Wanda Marie David. Ms. Meche, a native and long-time resident of Church Point, died Wednesday evening, August 9 at a friend's residence. Monsignor Jefferson J. DeBlanc will conduct the services with interment following in the Monsignor Bienvenu Cemetery on Hwy 35 north of Church Point. Survivors include her daughters, Nichole LaCombe and Tonya and Tyla Meche-all of Church Point; a brother, Wayne David and wife Madeleine of Church Point; her sisters, Pat Daigle and husband Larry and Danita Matte and husband Donald-all of Church Point-and Blackie Bernard and husband John of Sunset, LA and seven grandchildren: Harlee, Jaden and Krislyn Miller; Ashlyn Olivier, Laiken Meche, Aubree Francis and Liam LaCombe. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph B. and Mary Earline Venable David and a brother, Blaine David. The family requested that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 11:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. on Friday, August 11 and continue from 9:00 A.M. Saturday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held there at 7:00 P.M. Friday by Monsignor DeBlanc. Pallbearers will be Jaden Miller, Shane Daigle, Kyle Guidry, Zack and Ty Boudreaux and Thad Meche.
