Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Saturday, July 3, 2010 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point for Mrs. Wallace (Hilda) Elkins, 81, the former Hilda Briscoe. Mrs. Elkins, a native and long-time resident of Church Point, died at 6:30 A.M. Friday, July 2 at Acadia- St. Landry Hospital, Church Point. Father Randy Moreau will conduct the services with interment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery on Highway 35, Church Point.

Survivors include three granddaughters: Monica Oyarzun and husband Patricio of Church Point, Arcine Winn and husband Gabriel of Church Point and Malana Vasseur and husband Brent of Lewisburg, La.; a grandson, Nelson Elkins, Jr. and wife Michelle of Church Point; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Elkins of Church Point; twelve great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace "Bay" Elkins and a son, Nelson Elkins, Sr.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 2:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. on Friday, July 2 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Saturday until the time of the services.

A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Friday by Father Moreau.
