Church Point, La.
A private Memorial Service will be held at a time and facility to be determined by family for Joseph Wade Savoy, 76. Mr. Savoy, a native and long-time resident of rural Acadia Parish near Church Point, La., died Wednesday evening, May 30, 2012 at his residence.
Survivors include his niece, Melanie Savoy Richard and husband John P. Richard; his nephew and godchild, Douglas N. Savoy and wife Susan; a great niece and two great nephews, Lexi L. Richard and Cameron and Evan Savoy-all of Church Point and a sister-in-law, Loretta S. Thibodeaux of Church Point.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Bernadette Savoie; his stepmother, Mary L. Savoie; his wife, Freida G. Savoy and a brother, John Edwin Savoy.
The family wishes to thank Hospice Compassus for their aid and comfort during this time.
Mr. Savoy will be remembered as an accomplished roustabout in the oilfield industry for many years.
