Church Point, LA:     A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, May 2, 2024 at Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery on Hwy 182 south of Opelousas, LA for Virginia "Jenny" Richard, 75, the former Virginia Matherne. Mrs. Richard, a native of LaRose, LA and resident of Acadia Parish near Church Point, died Saturday evening, April 27 at her residence. Deacon Byrne Winn will conduct the service with interment immediately following.

Survivors include her son, David Richard and wife Danielle of Church Point; her grandchildren, Kaelyn and Karleigh Richard; two sisters, Ella Naquin and husband Gerald and Fay Matherne-all of LaRose and two brothers, Norman Matherne and wife Dale of LaRose and Rex Matherne and wife Anna of Tyler, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, Augustin and Rose Guidry Matherne; her husband, James Norwood "Boy" Richard and six siblings.

A Casino "Floor Boss" in the Gaming industry for a number of years; Mrs. Richard was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Truly loved, she will be missed by all who knew her.
