Obituary

Church Point, LA:         A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Virgie Latiolais, 89, the former Virgie Mary Thibodeaux. Mrs. Latiolais, a native and lifetime resident of Church Point, passed away Sunday evening, April 3 at The Carpenter House in Lafayette, LA. Rev. Father "Père" Rozas, parochial vicar of the church, will be the celebrant of the Mass and entombment will be in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum on Hwy 35 north of Church Point.

She is survived by her sons, Todd Latiolais and wife Debbie and Marcy Latiolais-all of Church Point; her daughters, Marla Frederick and husband Ove of Lafayette and Connie Melancon and husband Elmer of Church Point; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and her extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Elise Venable Thibodeaux; her husband, Llewellyn "Lou" Latiolais and a sister, Hazel Lyons.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 9:00 AM Wednesday until the time of services. A rosary will be recited in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Wednesday by the Church Point Rosary Group.

A devout Catholic and devoted wife, mother and grandmother; Mrs. Latiolais will truly be missed by all who knew her. Guidry Funeral Home, 219 N. Broadway St., Church Point, LA is in charge of final arrangements.
