Church Point, LA:     Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, January 8, 2026 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Violet Mae Latiolais, 78, the former Violet Mae Elkins. Mrs. Latiolais, a long-time resident of Church Point, died Saturday evening, January 3 at her residence. Visitation will be held at Guidry Funeral Home from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Wednesday, January 7 and continue from 9:00 AM Thursday until the time of the Services. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30 PM Wednesday by Deacon Stephen Melancon. Fr. Brian Harrington, Pastor of the Church, will conduct the Services with Interment immediately following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery on Hwy 35 north of Church Point. Pallbearers will be Blake, Brody, Bransen, David and Kevin Latiolais and Dustin Olivier with Keanon Latiolais as honorary pallbearer.

Survivors include her daughter, Pam Thurston of Church Point; her sons, Troy Latiolais and wife Pam of Sanford, NC and Brian Latiolais and wife Tammy of Church Point; a sister, Shirley Elkins Latiolais of Church Point; ten grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Latiolais; her father, Austin "Black" Elkins; her stepfather, James V. "Wildcat" Bellard and mother, Melvina Thibodeaux Bellard; a son, Keith Latiolais; a granddaughter, Chelsea Brouillette and three great-granddaughters, Nyjah Enos and Brenley and Blakeleigh Latiolais.

A clerk in Sears catalog sales for a number of years; Mrs. Latiolais was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Truly loved, she will be missed by all who knew her.
