Church Point, La. Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, La. for Violet Mae Colligan, 92. Mrs. Colligan, a native and long-time resident of Church Point, died Tuesday afternoon, March 8 at Opelousas General Hospital in Opelousas, La..Father Mark Melancon will conduct the services with interment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery adjacent to the Church.

Survivors include two sons, David "Butch" Colligan and wife Laura and Dallas Colligan, Jr. and wife Cathy-all of Church Point; Four daughters: Kate Lansou and husband Brian and Melanie Bellard and husband Paul-all of Church Point, Faye Guidry and husband Shirley Ray of Gonzales, La. and Marcella Abshire and husband Charles of Opelousas; thirteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dallas Colligan, Sr.; her parents, David and Eunice Daugereaux Colligan and two grandsons, Ronnie and Rutty Smith.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the services on Saturday. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 1:00 P.M. at the church by Father Melancon.
Pallbearers will be Reggie Smith, Trevor Guidry, Cullen Abshire and Dane, Lucas, Nick and Andrew Colligan.
