Church Point, LA Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, September 21, 2015 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Versie Godeaux Leger, 80, who passed away at 2:05 PM Thursday, September 17 at Opelousas General Health System in Opelousas, LA.
Monsignor Jefferson J. DeBlanc will conduct the funeral services with burial following in Mt. Calvary Cemetery on Highway 190 east of Eunice, LA.

Mrs. Leger, a native and currently a resident of rural St. Landry Parish, was the daughter of the late Albert Godeaux and the former Zelina Darbonne.
She is survived by her husband, Eby Leger, currently of Church Point; two sons, Calvin Leger and wife Pauline of Lafayette, LA and Rickey Leger and wife Kelly of Carencro, LA; four grandchildren: Corey Leger, Nicole Michaud and husband "DJ", Jennifer Leger and Eric Leger and wife Lindsey and two great-grandchildren, Kole Hartdegen and Owen Leger.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings: Theresa Sheeley, Marie Thibodeaux, Agatha Godeaux, Antoine Godeaux and Adam Godeaux.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 3:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 20 and continue on Monday from 8:00 A.M. until the time of services. The Rosary will be recited at 6:30 P.M. on Sunday by Monsignor DeBlanc.

Mrs. Leger retired after some thirty years as a valued employee of the Lafayette Parish School System.
