Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday February 2, 2008 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church; Church Point, La. for Mrs. Vernon LeBlanc, the former Mary Hollinshead, who died at 8:15 A.M. on Thursday January 31, 2008 at her residence in Church Point. She was a native of Hamburg, Illinois. Monsignor Jefferson J. DeBlanc will conduct the services with interment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery; Highway 35, Church Point, La.
Survivors include three daughters: Carole Ann Thibodeaux and husband Aarol and Cecile L. Johnson and husband J.D.-all of Church Point- and Mary Catherine Hebert and husband O.P. (Butch) of Loreauville, La.; three sons: Marc Brady LeBlanc and wife Emilia of Broussard, La., Sydney C. LeBlanc of Jeanerette, La. and James Glenn LeBlanc and wife Jeanne of Franklin, La.; 17 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon LeBlanc; a son, Vernon Joseph (Joe) LeBlanc; her parents, Charles E. and Amanda Duplechain Hollinshead; a sister, Mildred Nezat and a nephew, Ronnie Nezat.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Friday February 1 and continue on Saturday from 8:00 A.M. until time of services.
A recitation of the Rosary will be held on Friday at 7:00 P.M. by Monsignor DeBlanc.
A devoted mother and homemaker, Mrs. LeBlanc was a member of the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Ladies Altar Society and a Eucharistic Minister for a number of years.
