Church Point, LA:     A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, December 27, 2024 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church in Church Point, LA for Ms. Verline Richard Prejean, 92, who passed away at 11:05 PM Saturday, December 21 at her residence. Fr. Brian Harrington, Pastor of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, will be the Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the Burial Rite at the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum on Hwy 35.

Verline, a resident of Sunset, LA, was the daughter of the late Jacque Richard and the former Aline Comeaux. She loved reading books and watching her soap operas. Beloved Mama, Grams and "Gigi"; her family was very special to her and she loved spending time with them.

She is survived by three daughters, Janet Hamlett and husband Steve of Sunset, Marilynn Sangurima of Seguin, TX and Bunella "Bunny" Dollar and husband Jessie "Skip" of Sunset; two sons, Kevin Prejean and wife Leeanna of Lumberton, TX and Elvin Prejean and wife Nancy of Abbeville, LA; her son-in-law, Clifford Graham of Catahoula, LA; ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Carla Graham; one son-in-law, Ed Sangurima; one sister, Alberta Bourque and three brothers, Newman, J.U. and Terry Richard.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home on Friday, December 27, from 9:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Mass. A Rosary will be recited in the funeral home at 1:00 PM by Deacon David Menard before leaving for church.
