Church Point, La.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, January24, 2008 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church; Church Point, La. for Verdie Briscoe who died at 4:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at the American Legion Hospital; Crowley, La. She was a native of Church Point. Father Blair Lope Sabaricos will conduct the services with interment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery; Highway 35, Church Point.
Survivors include two sisters: Rita Fontenot of Denham Springs, La. and Irene Jeanise of Church Point, La.; a brother, Shelery Briscoe of Gonzales, La. and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Louise Sonnier Briscoe and three sisters: Elta Pitre, Ida Soileau and Rena Labbie.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 2:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. on Wednesday and continue on Thursday from 8:00 A.M. until time of services.
A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday by Deacon Bryne Winn.
