Church Point, LA:         A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, November 7, 2020 at the Point Church in Church Point, LA for Veda Serrin, 67, the former Veda Vedette Orsborn. Mrs. Serrin, a native of Sulphur, LA and resident of Church Point, passed away Tuesday evening, November 3 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette, LA. Bishop Rick Pavlu, Lead Pastor Jared Pavlu and Executive Pastor Rick Hardwick will officiate at the service and at the committal in the First Baptist Cemetery on Hwy 35 north of Church Point.

She is survived by her husband, Randel Serrin of Church Point; her sons, Dustin Serrin of Church Point, Caleb Labbie and fiancee Hailey Romero of Branch, LA and Cade Labbie and wife Paige of Sulphur; a daughter, Carley Serrin of Church Point; her sisters, Brenda Hammond of Sulphur, Lucy Ivie and husband Danny of Alexandria and Dovie Tomplait and husband Dale of Orange, TX; her grandchildren, Brock and Brody Serrin and her mother-in- law, Ruby Orsborn of Church Point. She was preceded in death by her parents, Quinton and Darlean Thornton Orsborn; a son, Ryan Serrin and a sister, Quinetta Smith. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the Point Church from 1:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Friday, November 6 and continue on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of services. Mrs. Serrin, a medical transcriptionist for a number of years, was very active in the church's youth education and musical activities and was a loving caregiver to her mother-in-law and daughter. Guidry Funeral Home, 219 N. Broadway St., Church Point, LA is in charge of final arrangements.
