Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Guidry Funeral Home, Church Point for Valrie "Shine" Viga, Jr., 84. Mr. Viga, a long-time resident of Richard, La., died at 12:15 A.M. Thursday, March 4 at his residence in Richard. Father Wayne Duet will conduct the services with interment following in the St. Edward Cemetery; Richard, La.

Survivors include his wife, Eva Jeanise Viga of Richard, La.; two stepsons, Allen Daigle and wife Patsy and Gary Daigle and wife Barbara-all of Richard; two stepdaughters, Brenda Thibodeaux of Eunice, La. and Angela McFarland and husband Andy of Church Point; eight step grandchildren and 10 step great-grandchildren.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 11:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. on Friday, March 5 and continue from 8:30 A.M. Saturday until the time of the services.

A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 8:00 P.M. Friday by Deacon Bryne Winn.

Mr. Viga was a United States Army veteran of WWII. He will be honored with a Flag Presentation Ceremony at the time of services.
