Church Point, LA: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 AM Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at St. Edmund Chapel in Branch, LA for Mr. Val Gene Daigle, 86, who passed away at 5:53 PM Saturday, March 7 at his residence.
Fr. Austin Leger will be the Celebrant of the Mass and burial will take place in the St. Edmund Chapel Cemetery adjacent to the church.
Val Gene, a resident of Acadia Parish near Church Point, LA, was the son of the late James Walter Daigle and the former Margaret McBride. He worked as a driller in the oilfield for many years and was a member of the American Legion Post 225 in Church Point.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Anna Vidrine Daigle of Church Point; one daughter, Mary Hargrove and husband Russell of Church Point; four sons, Michael G. Daigle and wife Lynn of Homer, AK, Wayne Daigle and wife Margaret of Natchitoches, LA, Steven Daigle and wife Wendy of Dayton, TX and James Daigle and wife LeAnn of Houston, TX; eleven grandchildren, Jerid, Crystal, Kyle, Glen, Chastity, R.J., Trey, Kristi, Jason, Jevin and Michael; ten great-grandchildren; two great-great- grandchildren; two sisters, Linda Trahan and Beverley Comeaux and one brother, Ronald Daigle. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home in Church Point on Tuesday, March 10 from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM and continue there on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until the time of services. A rosary will be recited in the funeral home on Tuesday evening at 6:00 PM. Personal condolences may be sent to the Daigle family at
