Church Point, La. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 3, 2008 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church; Church Point for Una Wimberley (Mrs. Wilfred) Theriot,91, who died at 9:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at Flannery Oaks Guest Home; Baton Rouge, La. Mrs. Theriot was a native and long-time resident of Church Point. Father Mitch Guidry will conduct the services with entombment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum, Church Point.
Survivors include two daughters: Bobbie DeJean and Elizabeth "Liz" Miller- both of Baton Rouge; two sisters: Mrs. James "Mattie" Martin and Mrs. J.E. "Dora" Latiolais- both of Opelousas, La.; six grandchildren: Ron and Ann DeJean of Baton Rouge, Dawn and Jim Hill of Sulphur, La., Nicea and Steve Barry of Church Point, Fred and Jayne DeJean of Lafayette, La., Donna and Walter Rigler of Pearland, Tex. and Eddie Timmons of Las Vegas, Nev.; eighteen great-grandchildren and a faithful, loving companion, Juanita Thibodeaux of Baton Rouge, La.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilfred Theriot; her parents, Joseph Curtis "Jack" and Dora David Wimberley; seven brothers: "Blanc", "Lou", "Mack", Harold, Harris "Tee", "Pete" and Percy "Paz" Wimberley; three sisters: Mrs. Alden "Kat" Thibodeaux, Mrs. Walter "Lydia" Stelly and Mrs. Herman "Deanna" Darbonne and a son-in-law, Ronald Anthony DeJean.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 1:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Friday, May 2 and continue from 8:00 A.M. until the time of the services on Saturday. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Friday by Deacon Bryne Winn.
A well-known volunteer; Mrs. Theriot was a member of the OLSH Catholic Daughters and the OLSH Ladies Altar Society, the Auxiliaries of American Legion Post 225 and VFW Post 9903 and a member of WOW Camp 444.
