Church Point, LA:     Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Thursday, August 8, 2019 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Richard Anthony "Tony" Guidry, 82. Mr. Guidry, a native of Church Point and currently a resident of Houma, LA, died Thursday evening, August 1 at his residence. Pastor Patrick S. Broussard will conduct the services with interment following in the Monsignor Bienvenu Cemetery on Hwy 35 north of Church Point.

Survivors include a son, Jeffery Mark Guidry of Thibodeaux, LA; two daughters, Dawn Schultz and husband Marion of Batesland, SD and Antoinette Sweetin of Houma; a brother, Dale Guidry and wife Patsy of Tomball, TX; a sister, Eva Guidry of Church Point; three grandchildren, Heather Brunet and Zane and Samantha Sweetin and four great-grandchildren, Haze Talbot, Turner Guidry and Carson and Cassidy Sweetin. He was preceded in death by his wife Suza Guidry and his parents, Melvin and Lela Sonnier Guidry. The family requested that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the services on Thursday. A recitation of the Rosary will be held there at 1:30 P.M. Thursday by Deacon Byrne Winn. Employed in the offshore oil industry for a number of years, Mr. Guidry was a devoted family man who was loved and will truly be missed by his extended family and friends.
