Obituary

Church Point, LA:        Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Tommy A. "Tom" Norman, 78. Mr. Norman, a native of Rayne, LA and currently a resident of Church Point, died Sunday morning, November 10 at The Carpenter House Hospice in Lafayette, LA. Pastor Patrick Broussard will conduct the services and the interment following in the church cemetery on Hwy 35 north of Church Point. Survivors include his wife, Jean Norman of Church Point; his sons, Keith and Mike Norman of Sunset, LA; a stepson, Jonathan Murphy and wife Jill of Church Point; his stepdaughters, Bridget Boudreaux and companion David Theriot of Church Point, Roxanne Bourgeois and husband Michael of Lawtell, LA and Stacey Priestner and husband Roger of Zachary, LA; a sister, Cynthia Breaux and husband Richard of Addis, LA; two grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Christine and Victoria Norman; his parents, Anthony and Odile Hulin Norman and a brother, Kenneth Norman. The family requested that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 11:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 13 and continue from 9:00 A.M. Thursday until the time of the services. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday by Jonathan Murphy. Pallbearers will be Keith, Mike and Logan Norman; David Theriot, Nick Doucet and Michael Bourgeois; Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Romero, Freddy Deshotel, Dave Watt and Michael Bourgeois II. His stepson, Jonathan Murphy, will be an altar server. The owner operator, along with his wife Jean, of "Le Vieux Moulin"; Mr. Norman loved working with his hands, loved to dance, just loved Life. A proud U.S. Marine veteran of the Viet Nam War and member of VFW Post 9903, Mr. Norman will be honored with a Flag Presentation Ceremony at the time of services. Truly loved, he will be sadly missed by his extended family and friends. Arrangements are being handled by Guidry Funeral Home, Inc.; 219 N. Broadway, Church Point, LA.
