Church Point, La. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point for Thomas Stanley Bodin, 58, who passed away at 12:30 pm Monday, March 23 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette, La. Msgr. Jefferson J. Deblanc, Pastor of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, will conduct the funeral services with entombment in the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Cemetery in Lafayette.

Thomas, a resident of Church Point, was the son of the late Stanley Bodin and the former Love Martin. He is survived by two sisters, Elizabeth "Liz" Gauthreaux and husband Dr. Randy Gauthreaux of Lafayette and Jean Kay Brown and husband Charles of Baton Rouge, LA; eight nieces and nephews, Corey Gauthreaux, Lauren LaFosse and husband Clayton, Kyle Gauthreaux and wife Alysia, Ellen Brown and husband Philip, Amy Crain and husband Chris, Andrew Brown and wife Lauren, Allyson Stevens and husband Clint and Christopher Brown and wife Ashley; five great-nieces and five great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a great-nephew, Cade Michael Brown.
Tommy was born and raised in Church Point and attended Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Elementary and then Church Point High School. A US Navy veteran, he toured the world aboard the aircraft carrier USS Constellation. Most of Tommy's career was spent working in the oil industry. At the time of his death, he was employed by Frank's International as a purchasing agent. An avid outdoorsman, he loved duck hunting, fishing, playing golf and cooking for family and friends. He never met a stranger. His friendly outgoing personality, stories and jokes will be missed. The family would like to thank his many friends that brought so much entertainment and joy to his life and in Tommy's own words, "Be Positive".
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home on Friday, March 27 from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm and continue from 9:00 am Saturday until the time of services. A rosary will be recited in the funeral home at 6:00 pm Friday.
Pallbearers will be Dr. Randy Gauthreaux, Charles Brown, Corey and Kyle Gauthreaux, Andrew and Christopher Brown.
He will be honored with a Flag presentation Ceremony at the time of services.
