Church Point, LA:     A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at Assumption of The Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Mire, LA for Mrs. Theresa M. Thibodeaux, 87, who passed away at 12:20 PM Sunday at her residence. Msgr. Russell Harrington, Pastor of the Church, will be the Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the Burial Rite in the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Mausoleum immediately following the Mass.

Theresa, a native of Barcelona, Spain and a resident of Church Point since 1966, was the daughter of the late Marcelino Margeli and the former Angela Villanova. A member of the American Legion Post in Church Point, a volunteer at the Acadia-St. Landry Nursing Home and a member of a local prayer group; Mrs. Thibodeaux loved to play bingo at the nursing home with the residents, trips to the casino, crocheting and picking pecans.

She is survived by one son, Raymond Thibodeaux and wife Tessy of Church Point, LA; three grandchildren, Matthew Thibodeaux and Dylan Thibodeaux of Church Point and Joshua Clement of Jennings, LA; two great-grandchildren, Olivia and Helen Thibodeaux of Church Point; two sisters, Felicidad Margeli of Barcelona, Spain and Maggie Margeli Duet of Maurice, LA; a brother, Octabio Artigas of Barcelona and a nephew, Daniel Maella and wife Irina and great nephew, David-all from Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Darrel Thibodeaux; her parents; two sisters and one brother.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 29, from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and continue on Thursday from 8:00 AM until the time of departure for the mass at 1:00 PM. A rosary will be recited in the funeral home on Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM.
