Church Point, LA:     Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, April 8, 2022 at Guidry Funeral Home in Church Point, LA for Mrs. Theresa Elkins, 96, who passed away at 9:47 AM Tuesday, April 5 at her residence. Rev. Fr. 'Pere' Rozas, Parochial Vicar of Our Lady Of The Sacred Heart Catholic Church, will conduct the funeral services and entombment will take place in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum on Hwy 35.

Theresa was the daughter of the late Jean Batiste Bourque and the former Claudia Reviere.
She is survived by three daughters, Barbara Matte and husband Leander of Church Point, Darlene Lalonde of Church Point and Penny Guidroz and husband Jay of Opelousas, LA; two sons, Donald Elkins and wife Ursula of Lafayette, LA and Terry Elkins of Church Point; thirteen grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph Irby Elkins; three sons, Herman, Charles and Brent Elkins; three sisters and four brothers.
Mrs. Elkins, a homemaker, seamstress, cook, farm worker and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, was truly loved and will be missed by all who knew her. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home on Friday, April 8 from 9:00 AM until the time of services at 2:00 PM. A rosary will be recited in the funeral home at 1:30 PM prior to the funeral service.
