Church Point, LA:      A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Mrs. Theresa B. Thibodeaux, 92, who passed away at 4:24 PM Sunday, March 10 at Acadia-St. Landry Guest Home in Church Point. Msgr. Jefferson J. Deblanc, pastor of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the Mass and burial will take place in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery on Hwy 35 north of Church Point. Theresa, a life-long resident of Church Point, was the daughter of the late Walter Bourgeois and the former Marie McBride. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she loved "Cajun Dancing", cooking and baking. She is survived by four daughters, Delores T. Fontenot and husband Robert of Church Point, Betty Jo Thibodeaux Jenking and husband Chris of Sewell, NJ, Loma T. Mire and husband Wilbert of Church Point and Debra T. Langlinais and husband Joey of Lafayette; one son, James Malcolm Thibodeaux of Church Point; twelve grandchildren, Dana T. Richard, Kyra Thibodeaux, Kimberly Schellert, Casey Fontenot, Kelli Herban, Stephen Jenking, Christy Jenking, Jillian Herbert, Nicky Daigle, Vicky Jo Lavergne, Derrick Langlinais and Lorie Aguliera; sixteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren and one sister, Margaret B. Olivier of Westlake, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gustave Thibodeaux; one daughter, Navell T. Bourque; one son, Donald "Chopper" Thibodeaux; one daughter-in-law, Ida B. Thibodeaux; two sisters, Anastasia B. Miller and Mary B. Richard and four brothers, Hardy, Gabriel, Wallace and Warren Bourgeois. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 13 from 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM and continue on Thursday from 8:00 AM until the time of services. A rosary will be recited in the funeral home Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM. Guidry Funeral Home, 219 N. Broadway St., Church Point, LA is in charge of final arrangements.
