Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point for Tammy Thurston, 45, the former Tammy Elizabeth Carrier. Mrs. Thurston, a native and long-time resident of Church Point, died at 2:30 P.M. Sunday, July 29 at Opelousas General Hospital; Opelousas, La.. Father Stephen Ugwu will conduct the services with interment following in the Monsignor Bienvenu Cemetery on Highway 35 north of Church Point.

Survivors include her father, Whitney Carrier of Church Point; a son, Robert Thurston and wife Ashley of Opelousas; a daughter, Jackie Cary and husband Clay of Branch, La.; a brother, Kevin Carrier and wife Patrice of Gonzales, La.; two sisters, Brunella Mooney of Houston, Tex. and Sherry Oakley and husband Warren of Shuteston, La. and nine grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Audrey Carrier and a sister, Adeline Carrier.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. on Tuesday, July 31and continue from 8:00 A.M. Wednesday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday.
