A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point for Suzanne Smith, 63, the former Mary Suzanne Swindler. Mrs. Smith, a native of Cottonport, La. and long-time resident of Church Point, died at 8:00 A.M. Saturday, September 24 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge, La. There will be an Inurnment Service at a later date.
Survivors include a son, Cale Paul Smith and wife Katherine of Baton Rouge; a daughter, Amber and husband Jamie "Bull" Broussard of Scott, La.; two brothers, Howard "Bubba" Swindler and wife Sandy of Lafayette/ Mansura, La. and David Swindler and wife Eloise of Evergreen, La.; five sisters: Marilyn MacMurdo and husband "Buck", Faye Walker and Stephanie Armand-all of Baton Rouge, Helen Feduccia and husband Don of Alexandria, La. and Nancy Thevenot and husband Herbert of Bunkie, La. and her grandchildren: Jake Forshag, Ben, Claire and Gabe Smith and Luc and Levi Broussard. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents, Howard Bernard, Sr. and Alma (Ducote) Swindler.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 A.M. Tuesday until the time of the service. The Rosary will be recited at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday.
Mrs. Smith will be remembered as Cashier at Church Point Bank and Trust with some thirty-five years of service to that institution and Church Point.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude's Childen's Hospital; 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tenn.
