Church Point, LA:         A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Suzan Bellard Matte Savoy, 47, the former Suzan Marie Bellard. Ms. Savoy, a native and resident of Church Point, passed away Saturday evening, July 3 in rural Cameron Parish. Rev. Father "Père" Rozas, parochial vicar of the church, will be the celebrant of the Mass and interment will be in Bellevue Memorial Park south of Opelousas, LA.
She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Sue Bearb Cormier and Michael Sidney Cormier; her daughters, Kerri Matte of Church Point and Tori Matte and husband Cody Savoy of Prairieville, LA; her sisters, Katrina Bellard Constance and husband Jimmy of Holmwood, LA and Tina Fay Olivier and husband Troy of Church Point; her grandchildren: Jaxon and Reid Savoy and Wyatt, Cayson and Rhyder Smith and her nieces and nephews: Alyssa and Nathan Constance and Tyler and Blake Savant. She was preceded in death by her father, Cedrick P. Bellard, Sr. and a brother, Cedrick Paul Bellard, Jr.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, July 6 and continue on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until services. A rosary will be recited in the funeral home at 7:00 PM Tuesday by Deacon Byrne Winn. A down-to-earth, hard-working woman who loved her family; Ms. Savoy will truly be missed by all who knew her.
