Church Point, LA:         A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Eunice, LA for SSG (Ret.) Darwin Chaddick, 83. SSG Chaddick, a resident of the Richard community in Acadia Parish, LA, passed away Monday morning, April 25 at Oak Lane Wellness and Rehab Nursing Home in Eunice, LA. Pastor Bert Langley will conduct the service and interment will be in the Pilgrim Rest Cemetery adjacent to the Church.

He is survived by his wife, Margarete Eschbach Chaddick of Richard; his daughters, Tracy Duplechain and husband Eric of Eunice, LA and Heidi Mire and husband Kevin of Lafayette, LA; his grandchildren: Jacob Duplechain and wife Zoe, Anna and Sarah Duplechain; Camron, Caroline and Vivian Mire and his extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Griffin and Vernie Davis Chaddick and two brothers, Deueul and Ferdie Chaddick.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church from 9:00 AM Wednesday until the time of services.

A loving husband, father and grandfather who was proud of his career in the U.S. Army; SSG Chaddick was a self-employed trucker for over forty years. Generous and always ready to help others, he loved "18-Wheelers" and John Deere tractors. He will be interred with full military honors. The family wishes to thank the staff of Oak Lane Nursing Home, Hospice of Acadiana and Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette, LA for the care provided to him. Guidry Funeral Home, 219 N. Broadway St., Church Point, LA is in charge of final arrangements.
