Church Point, LA:     A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 2, 2025, for Shirley Ann Castille Olivier, 84, of Lawtell, LA who passed away Saturday, March 29, surrounded by loved ones. Fr. Michael Vidrine, Parochial Vicar of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, will be the celebrant of the Mass and conduct the Burial Rite following in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum on Hwy 35 north of Church Point. Visitation will be held at Guidry Funeral Home on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Mass. A Rosary will be recited in the funeral home at 1:15 PM

Born on March 22, 1941, she was the beloved daughter of the late Lilly Mae Castille and Joel Castille, Sr. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Terlin Olivier; her cherished son, Wendel Olivier; and her precious grandson, Joshua Olivier. She was also welcomed into eternal rest by her brothers, Carol, Murphy, Joel Jr., and Elgie Castille, her sisters, Dorothy Castille Robinson and Joann Castille and her half brother, Etienne Castille. Shirley is survived by a big, loving family, including sisters Angie Castille Stanford, Caroline Castille Faul, Gurphie Castille, Andrew Castille, Linda Castille Babineaux, and Tammy Castille Prudhomme, of the Lawtell area, her children: Randy Olivier (Judy) of Watson, Louisiana; Tracey Olivier Thibodeaux (Tim) of Lawtell, Louisiana; Gail Olivier Melancon of Denham Springs, Louisiana; Jody Olivier (Christina) of Denham Springs, Louisiana; and her daughter-in-law, Monica Olivier of Lawtell, wife of her late son Wendel. Her legacy continues through her treasured grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Randy and Judy's sons: Kelly Olivier (Brooke) and their daughter, Mallory; and Brad Olivier (Maria) and their sons, Bradley, Parker, and Dawson. Tracey and Tim's sons: Jeremy Thibodeaux; Corey Thibodeaux (Lindsey) and their children, Ellorie and Jake; Marcus Thibodeaux (Hannah) and their children, Holden, Hudson, Katherine, and Hadley; Trevor Thibodeaux (Hannah). Wendel and Monica's Children: Holly Olivier Morgan (Errold); Michelle Olivier Duplechien (Ryan) and their children, Abram and Audriana; Rachel Olivier and her sons, Haven and Sawyer; and Jonathan Olivier (Ashley) and their children, Jackson, Beau, and Miley. Gail's son, Cody Melancon (Brittney) and their children, Peyton, Reese, and Callie; her daughter, Brittany Melancon, and her children, Carter and Grace Marie and her step-son, Brad Melancon. Jody and Christina's sons, Justin and Blayne Olivier.

A devout Catholic, Shirley had a deep and abiding love for Mother Mary, often turning to her in prayer and seeking her intercession for the well-being of her family. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she embodied its principles through her kindness, compassion, and unwavering devotion. She was a woman of immense grace, always offering prayer and gentle words of encouragement. Shirley had a true gift for cooking and took great joy in preparing meals for her family. She was nurturing by nature-whether caring for her loved ones or lending a helping hand to others. She spent many years serving the community at the former Doctor's Hospital in Opelousas, where her compassion and dedication left a lasting impact. Those who knew Shirley will remember her for her infectious laughter and her genuine kindness. She was a woman who saw good in everyone, never speaking an unkind word, and striving to live in accordance with her Catholic faith. Her unwavering love for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was evident in every embrace, every prayer, and every moment.
