Church Point, LA:     Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at the St. John Catholic Chapel in Lewisburg, LA for Sharon S. Brasseaux, 83, the former Sharon Sonnier. Mrs. Brasseaux, a native and resident of Church Point, died Saturday morning, May 18 at Acadia-St. Landry Guest Home in Church Point. Fr. Brian Harrington, Pastor of OLSH Church, will conduct the Services with interment immediately following in the St. John Cemetery adjacent to the Chapel.

Survivors include her sons, David McMillan and wife Angela Hurt of Church Point and Mark McMillan and wife Angela Thibodeaux of Cankton, LA; her grandchildren: Blake McMillan and wife Sarah, Hannah McMillan, Matthew McMillan and wife Adalyn and T.J. Griffin and wife Jada; her great-grandchildren, Kade, Jansen and Jolie McMillan and her brothers, Jude Sonnier and wife Rosie and John Conrad Sonnier-all of Baton Rouge, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Gay Sonnier; her first husband, Malcolm Thomas McMillan and her second husband, John Brasseaux.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Tuesday, May 21 and continue from 8:00 AM Wednesday until time of Services. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM Tuesday by Deacon Byrne Winn.

A dietary worker at Acadia-St. Landry Guest Home for a number of years; Mrs. Brasseaux was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Truly loved, she will be missed by all who knew her. Arrangements are being handled by Guidry Funeral Home, Inc.; 219 N. Broadway, Church Point, LA (337) 684-5488.
