Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point for Sanford Paul Michot, 81. Mr. Michot, a native of Hessmer, La. and long-time resident of Church Point, died at 9:15 P.M. Wednesday, September 11 at his current residence in Crowley, La. Monsignor Jefferson J. DeBlanc will conduct the services with entombment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum on Highway 35 north of Church Point.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah Watson Michot of Crowley; two sons, David Michot and wife Tresha of Maxie, La. and Christopher Michot and wife Julie of Lafayette, La.; two daughters, Pam Menard of Church Point and Cynthia Ann Guidry and husband Blair of Breaux Bridge, La.; twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Paul Michot and his parents, Clifton and Lillian (Smith) Michot.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Friday, September 13 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Saturday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Friday by Monsignor DeBlanc.
A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Michot was a teacher and school administrator for some twenty-one years. He will be honored with a Flag Presentation Ceremony at the time of services.
