Russell J. Quibodeaux's Obituary
Church Point, La. A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 23,2009 in Monsignor Bienvenu Cemetery, Highway 35; Church Point for Russell J. Quibodeaux, 73. Mr. Quibodeaux, a native of and long-time resident of Church Point, died at 7:03 P.M. Friday, December 18, 2009 at Acadia-St. Landry Hospital, Church Point.
Survivors include a wife, Elaine Richard Quibodeaux of Church Point; two sons, Jeffery Quibodeaux of Church Point and John Quibodeaux of Scott, La.; a daughter, Norma Quibodeaux, a daughter-in-law,Connie Quibodeaux and a son-in-law, Walter Donald Olivier-all of Church Point; two brothers, Jules LeJeune of Church Point and Allen Quibodeaux of Nederland, Tex.; six grandchildren: Donnie and Joey Olivier and Jacque, Jeanea, Ashley and Alesha Quibodeaux and two great-grandchildren, Kylie and Jackie Olivier.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra "Cookie" Olivier; his parents, Eddie and Adelina Thibodeaux Quibodeaux and a brother, Hilton Quibodeaux.
A well-known and well-traveled Cajun fiddle player for many years, Mr. Quibodeaux was twice recognized by the Cajun French Music Association for his accomplishments in the field.
