Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 20, 2012 at St. Edmund Catholic Church in Branch, La. for Russell Eustis "Buddy" Barousse, Jr., 81. Mr. Barousse, a native of Port Arthur, Tex. and long-time resident of Branch, died at 6:37 P.M. Tuesday, January 17 at his residence. Father Paul Broussard will conduct the services with interment following in the St. Edmund Cemetery adjacent to the Church.

Survivors include his wife, Rita Kay Fruge Barousse of Branch; a son, Prentiss Barousse and loving companion Lori of Maurice, La.; a daughter, Annette Leonards and husband Randy of Roberts Cove, La.; nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 4:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 19 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Friday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:30 P.M. on Thursday by Father Gary Schexnayder.

Pallbearers will be Russell, Rufus, Richard and Ruston Leonards and Matthew, Jordan and Zachary Barousse.

A U.S. Navy retiree and veteran of the Korean Conflict, Mr. Barousse was a long-time member of the American Legion Post 405 and Knights of Columbus Council in Branch. He will be honored with a flag Presentation Ceremony at the time of services.
