Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, December 22, 2008 at St. Edward Catholic Church, Richard, La. for Ruby Leger Savoy,72, the former Ruby Leger. Mrs. Savoy, a native and life-long resident of Richard, died at 12:30 P.M. Friday, December 19, 2008 at Opelousas General Hospital; Opelousas, La. Father Austin Leger will conduct the services with interment following in the St Edward Catholic Cemetery, Richard.
Survivors include her husband, Lester Savoy of Texas; three nieces: Victoria Ann Leger of Creole, La., Melanie Leger of Church Point and Marcella Leger of Rayne, La.; two nephews, Timothy Leger of Orange, Tex. And Jonathan Leger of Crowley, La.; five great nieces, six great nephews and one great-great niece.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Amos and Euna Gautreaux Leger; her sister, Melba Savoy and two brothers, Michael Ivy and Joseph Dewey Leger.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 21 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Monday until the time of the services.
A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Sunday by Father Leger.
