Church Point, LA:         A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, April 14, 2022 at the St. Edward Catholic Church in Richard, LA for Ruby Miller Duplechien, 77, the former Ruby Ann Miller. Mrs. Duplechien, a former resident of Port Sulphur, LA and current resident of Church Point, LA, passed away Sunday morning, April 10 at her residence. Rev. Father Korey LaVergne, pastor of the church, will be the celebrant of the Mass and interment will be in the Monsignor Bienvenu Cemetery on Hwy 35 north of Church Point.

She is survived by her sons, Gerald Duplechien and wife Arla of Prairieville, LA and Keith Duplechien and wife Brenda of Purvis MS; her daughters, Pamela Alexis and husband Douglas of Port Sulphur, LA and Melissa Newman of Church Point; her brothers, Kenneth Miller and wife Liz of Eunice, LA and Oran Miller and wife Theresa of Church Point; a sister, Hazel Darbonne of Iota, LA; fifteen grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clevance and Gernice Thibodeaux Miller and her husband, Newbon James "Red" Duplechien.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 9:00 AM Thursday until the time of services. A rosary will be recited in the funeral home at 2:00 PM Thursday by Deacon Byrne Winn.

An owner operator with her husband Newbon of "Cajun Kitchen" for over twenty years, Mrs. Duplechien was devoted to her family, friends and her dog, "Bobo". Her family wishes to thank LA Hospice and Jo Ann Wilson for the care and help provided to her. Guidry Funeral Home, 219 N. Broadway St., Church Point, LA is in charge of final arrangements.
