Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, January 31, 2014 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, La. for Rousella Elkins, 91, the former Rousella Duplechin. Mrs. Elkins, a native of Cankton, La. and long-time resident of Church Point, died at 11:05 P.M. Sunday, January 26 at her daughter's residence in Scott, La. Monsignor Jefferson J. DeBlanc will conduct the services with entombment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum in the cemetery adjacent to the Church.

Survivors include a son, Lee Elkins and a daughter, Patsy Elkins Faul-both of Scott; a brother, Delores Duplechin of Scott; six grandchildren: Gena Faul Doucet, Phillip Faul, Scott and Barry Elkins, Ashley Faul Melancon and Keri Ann Elkins Hebert and eight great-grandchildren: Connor and Claire Doucet, Kaely Smith, Briley Melancon, Kylie, Kamryn and Tristan Elkins and Aiden Faul.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Emar and Elise Bourque Duplechin; her husband, Emery J. Elkins; a grandson, Chad Elkins; five brothers and two sisters.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 11:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 30 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Friday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday.
