Obituary

Church Point- A native and life-long resident of Church Point, Rosa Belle passed away at 4:45 am, Sunday, September 10, 2017. Rosa Belle was the daughter of Moise Daigle, Sr. and Dora (O'Pry) Daigle. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Glaston "Black" Faul, her only son, John Getty Faul and daughter-in-law, Delphine "Del" (Thibodeaux) Faul, as well as five brothers (Nolton, Roosevelt, Ben, John and Louis) and four sisters (Enola Higginbotham, Elvina Dickerson, Agnes Daigle, and Dora Jean Daigle). She is survived by her granddaughters, Alicia (Faul) Lutman and husband, Craig, of North Palm Beach, Florida,Kristine Faul of Little Rock, Arkansas, one brother, Moise Daigle, Jr. and wife Diana, and hundreds of loving nieces and nephews.
When she began school, she spoke no English. But she was a dedicated student and graduated as the valedictorian from Church Point High School. After graduation, she married and began working as a bookkeeper at Church Point Wholesale and Liquor, where she worked for over 50 years. She remained curious and interested in learning new things throughout her life. Any time she heard something that she didn't know, she would raise her hand up next to her ear, tilt her head, squint her eyes and ask, "what is……?"
She was a devout Catholic and was a member of the Catholic Daughters. She always had a prayer list a mile long and wide, and said a rosary daily. Rosie, Aunt Belle, Mom, and Nan--- by any name she loved and was loved by so many. The multitude of nieces, nephews, and greats can all recount their first cup of coffee ever (coffee milk) was at Nan's, often in a sippee cup. No visit to Church Point was complete without a stop to see Nan. Morning to night, every day of the week, her door was open and the coffee pot was brewing - a tradition that was continued when she moved to ASLGH. She took great pride in her family and extended family. She was always interested in what was going on in everyone's lives and excited to get pictures from all of her family far and wide. She could readily tell you the names and birthdays of friends, siblings, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. Many were given a second home at Nan's. She always helped where she could, had a big heart and loved listening. She will be greatly missed.
The family would like to acknowledge their appreciation for the care given to Rosa Belle during her last weeks, days and hours by Paula Johnson and Lela Ann Dickinson. "The comfort you gave to her brought us peace of mind during this difficult time. We can never thank you enough."
