Obituary

Church Point, LA:     A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Guidry Funeral Home in Church Point, LA for Rosa Lee Middlebrooks, 86, the former Rosa Lee Leggett. Rosa Lee passed away at her home near Sunset, LA on November 23. Berl Adams, pastor of First Baptist Church, will conduct the services with interment following in the First Baptist Cemetery on Hwy 35 north of Church Point.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Guy Riley and Helen Maxine Leggett and a brother, William Thomas "Sonny" Leggett, all of Conroe, TX. Rosa Lee leaves behind to cherish her loving memory her husband of 67 years, Marion Elmer Middlebrooks who has loved and cared for her all their married life; two children, Sharon Luquette and Curtiss Middlebrooks; her grandchildren, Misty Esponge (Chuck), Shawn Luquette and Codi Luquette; her great-grandchildren: Ty, whom she raised as a son, Chase, Lincoln and Hannah Orgeron (Chase) and family, Dominic and Siddalie. Also, her constant companion, her little dog Sandy.

Rosa was born in Conroe, Texas October 14, 1936. She graduated high school there, then met and married her husband. Ten years later they moved to Louisiana and spent the rest of her life there. Rosa Lee raised her family in Lafayette, Scott and Sunset La, but remained a true Texan from Conroe, Texas all of her life. She was a homemaker that was "hands on" with her children and grandchildren. She loved to cook and bake with them. She loved to be outside enjoying her yard and mowing when she could. She loved animals and took in several strays. Rosa Lee was the best wife, mother, "Granny" and friend anyone could ever want. She loved and cared for her family, who loved and adored her back. She was the heart of her family and will be dearly missed by all.

"Words cannot express the love and appreciation to Nurse Kristina, who has been a big part of our family for a long time. A special thank you to all the ladies who helped care for our mama in her last days."
