Church Point, LA:   A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Mire, LA, for Mr. Ronald Lee Lopez, 64, who passed away on Saturday October 29. Msgr. Russell Harrington, Pastor of the Church, will be the Celebrant of the Mass and burial will take place in Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery adjacent to the church.

Ronald, a resident of Scott, was the son of the late Louis Lopez and the former Lovina Cormier. A welder by trade, Ron poured his heart into his work in the oilfield. He worked many years at Frank's Casing Crew and most recently, at International Well Testers where he made many lifelong friends. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather; Ron was very proud of his three sons and he loved spoiling his grandkids who adored their "Papa." A hard worker, he found great joy in fishing and hunting in his spare time.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Trish Lopez of Scott, LA; three sons, LTC Jason W. Lopez and wife Noël of Ft. Leavenworth, KS, Stephon P. Lopez of Conroe, TX and Scott J. Lopez and wife Angelle of Scott; seven grandchildren: Landri, Jackson, Andrew, Emma, Cooper, Bella and Ellie Lopez and two brothers, Mike Lopez of Scott and Allen Lopez and wife Elaine of Lafayette, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Pamela L. Schultz.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 1, from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM and continue on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until the time of the funeral mass. A rosary will be recited in the funeral home at 7:00 PM Tuesday evening by Deacon Byrne Winn.
