Church Point, LA:     A Memorial Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, May 24, 2024, at Guidry Funeral Home for Ronald Dale Castille, 76, who passed away at 10:46 PM Sunday, May 19, at Acadia-St. Landry Guest Home. Fr. Brian Harrington, Pastor of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, will conduct the Service with Entombment immediately following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum on Hwy 35.

Ronald, a life-long resident of Church Point, was the son of the late Curley Joseph Castille and the former Vanga Mae Colligan. An employee of Shell Oil Co. for 23 years, retiring at the age 52, Mr. Castille was a member of the Saddle Tramp Riders Club and Knights of Columbus Council 2504. A lifetime member of both the LA Quarter Horse Association and the American Quarter Horse Association and a member of the American Paint Horse Association; he loved raising quarter horses and thoroughbreds. A loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother; he made it his life's mission to expose his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to the Cajun way of life through making "Boucheries", camping and fun outdoor activities.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Delores Brown Castille of Church Point; three daughters, Jacqueline C. Thevis and husband Dwayne of Eunice, LA, Tammy C. Richard and companion Keith Fruge of Church Point and Monica Sue Castille and companion Jory McKenzie of Church Point; one son, Chad Michael Castille and wife Rachel of Church Point; eight grandchildren, Stephanie Coffey, Cody Richard, Ty Castille, Shelbi Richard, Nicholas Vanicor, McKayla Ardoin, Cameron Castille and Annalise Vanicor; four great-grandchildren, Elliot Ardoin, Yvette Ardoin, Amalie Coffey and Ezekiel Vanicor; his step-grandchildren: Kristen, Ciara, Melina and Mitchell Vanicor and Jeanna Wiley; one sister, Fabiola Lanthier and husband Murphy of Church Point and three brothers, Wilrey Castille and wife Martha of Church Point, Aubrey Castille and wife Kathy of Church Point and Raphael Castille of Church Point and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Gerald Castille.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home on Friday, May 24, from 9:00 AM until the time of the Memorial Service. A Rosary will be recited by Fr. Brian Harrington at 1:30 PM prior to the Memorial Service. Personal condolences may be sent to the Castille family at www.guidryfuneralhome.com. Guidry Funeral Home, 219 N.
