Memorial services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Chapel, Church Point for Ronald James Burleigh, 59. Mr. Burleigh, a native of Sunset, La. and a long-time resident of Church Point, died at 12:30 A.M. Friday, October 2 at his residence in Church Point. Monsignor Jefferson J. DeBlanc will conduct the service and interment will follow at a later date.

Survivors include his loving companion, Mary Jagneaux of Church Point; three sons: Ben Burleigh and wife Christina of Church Point, Steven Burleigh of Breaux Bridge, La. and Michael Burleigh and wife Glenda of Washington, La.; a daughter, Leslie Burleigh of Mississippi; two brothers, Sterling Burleigh and wife Wilda of Ville Platte, La. and Danny Burleigh and wife Brenda of Rayne, La.; three sisters: Judy Carrier and husband Larry of Church Point, Cynthia Lavergne of Rayne, La. and Erlene Herrin and husband R.C. of Newton, Tex. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben Burleigh and Margaret Forrestier Burleigh.
