Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, July11, 2009 at St. Edwards Catholic Church; Richard, La. for Ronald James Blanchard, Jr., 35, a native and resident of Branch, La. Mr. Blanchard died at 7:55 P.M. Thursday, July 9 at Opelousas General Hospital in Opelousas, La. following an extended illness. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Survivors include his father, Ronald James Blanchard, Sr. and wife Paula of Branch, La. and his mother, Frances Matte of White House, Texas. Also surviving him are his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Blanchard of Richard, La.; a brother, Timothy Sattler of Eunice, La. and four sisters: Darlene B. Stanford of White House, Texas, Elaine Mayden of Ataskacito, Texas, Megan Blanchard of Lafayette, La. and Katherine Blanchard, Branch, La.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Louis Matte of Eunice, La.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 4:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. on Friday and will continue from 8:00 A.M. Saturday until the time of the services.

A recitation of the Rosary was held at 7:00 P.M. Friday by Deacon Bryne Winn.
