Church Point, La. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at St. John Chapel in Lewisburg, La. for Francis Roger McMillan, 85. Mr. McMillan, a native and long-time resident of rural Acadia Parish near Church Point, La., died at Opelousas General Hospital in Opelousas, La. on Sunday morning, April 19. Father Stephen Ugwu will conduct the services with interment following in the St. John Cemetery adjacent to the church.
Survivors include a son, Glenn McMillan and companion Judy of Church Point; two daughters, Sandra Stears and husband Quentin of Grand Prairie, La. and Paula Miller and husband Richard of Eunice, La.; two brothers, Ray McMillan of Lewisburg, La. and Tommy McMillan of Opelousas; eleven grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren and eleven great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Helen Beaugh McMillan; his wife, Wilma Vidrine McMillan and a son, Tony Lanclos.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 11:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 21 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Wednesday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held there at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday by Deacon Bryne Winn.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Lanclos, Troy Daigle, Richie Miller, William, Glenn, Jason and Derrick McMillan and Jacob Fuselier. John Erol McMillan will be an honorary pallbearer.
