Church Point, La.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, April 7, 2008 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church; Church Point, La. for Roger Dale Lyons, 59, who died at 10:00 P.M. Friday, April 4, 2008 at University Medical Center; Lafayette, La. He was a native of Church Point. Father Blair Lope Sabaricos will conduct the services with entombment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum; Highway 35, Church Point.
Survivors include his mother, Hazel Thibodeaux Lyons of Church Point; a son, Douglas Lyons and wife Heather and a daughter, Denice Lyons-all of Church Point. He is also survived by two sisters: Priscilla Gary of Youngsville, La. and Jessica Henry of Church Point and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Mervin Lyons and an infant daughter, Melissa Lyons.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 3:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Sunday April 6 and continue from 8:00 A.M. until the time of the services on Monday. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Sunday.
A retired member of the retail grocery industry and a Viet Nam War Veteran, Mr. Lyons will be honored with a Flag Presentation at the time of services.
