Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, February 3, 2011 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Church Point for Mrs. Rodney (Mabel) Fontenot, 92, the former Mabel Briscoe. Mrs. Fontenot, a life-long resident of Branch, La., died at 1:10 A.M. Tuesday, February 1 at Acadia-St. Landry Guest Home in Church Point. Monsignor Jefferson J. DeBlanc will conduct the services with entombment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum in Church Point.

Survivors include her husband, Rodney Fontenot of Branch, La.; a son, Greg Fontenot and wife Sue of Branch; three grandchildren: Jeff Fontenot and wife Amanda, Heather Babineaux and husband Leighton and Emily Fontenot and two great-grandchildren, Ashton Babineaux and Hunter Fontenot.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 2:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 2 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Thursday until the time of the services.

A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday by Deacon Bryne Winn.
