Father Wayne Duet will conduct the services with interment following in the St. Edward Cemetery adjacent to the church. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Bertha LeJeune Lavergne of Richard; two sons, Todd Lavergne and wife Shirleen and Jarrod Lavergne-all of Richard; three daughters, Candyce Lavergne Marks and Tara Boone and husband Kelly-all of Richard-and Charisse Hayes and husband Tracy of Branch, LA; two sisters, Shirley Carriere and husband Mentor of Church Point, LA and Ella Mae Lavergne of Duson, LA; his grandchildren: Kasey and Jace Lavergne, Jade Kirkpatrick, Allison Marks, Camryn Carmello, Baylee and Gavin Hayes; Jordy, Jacob, Andrew, Brandt and Hunter Boone and Haillee, Daylon, Logan, Hayden and Luke Lavergne and eighteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gervais and Etia Martinez Lavergne; three great-grandchildren, London Dre Carmello, Zack Anthony Lavergne and Eden "EE" Boone and a sister, Sandra Rosberry. The family requested that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 2:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Tuesday, July 10 and continue from 9:00 A.M. Wednesday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held there at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday by Deacon Bryne Winn. Pallbearers will be Jordy, Jacob and Andrew Boone and Kasey, Jace, Daylon, Logan and Hayden Lavergne. Honorary pallbearers will be Gavin Hayes, Brandt and Hunter Boone and Luke Lavergne. A retiree of Chevron Corporation, Mr. Lavergne was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 9436 of Richard. His family says of him: " To know Dad was to love him. In his 78 years he never met a stranger. Lending a helping hand to anyone in need, he somehow knew how to "fix" or "do" anything. Being the jokester and making others laugh brought him immense joy. If Dad was in the room you felt it; you knew it, even if it was just to hear him laughing at himself! His daughters and granddaughters will each claim to be his "favorite" or his "queen," but his true queen was the love of his life, Bertha. Although he will be missed by his loving, devoted family, Robert Louis Steven's quote describes Dad's life with all of us well…"That man is a success who has lived well, laughed often and loved much." Until we meet again, Paw. "
