Church Point, LA Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at St. Edward Catholic Church in Richard, LA for Joseph Rodney Labbie, 76. Mr. Labbie, a native of Rural Acadia Parish near Richard and long-time resident of Church Point, died Saturday morning, March 10 at Heart Hospital of Lafayette. Father Wayne Duet will conduct the services with interment following in the St. Edward Cemetery adjacent to the church.

Survivors include his wife, Grace Jagneaux Labbie of Church Point; a son, Chad Labbie and wife Danielle of Sunset, LA; a daughter, Angella Cannon and husband "Junior" of Church Point; a granddaughter, Caitlyn Labbie and two sisters, Lima Doucet and Janelle Matte, both of Church Point. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leverol and Naomi Blanchard Labbie and a brother, Mervin Labbie. The family requested that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 10:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. on Monday, March 12 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Tuesday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held there at 7:00 P.M. Monday by his daughter, Angella Cannon. Pallbearers will be Clint Matte, Troy Matte, Troy "Bubba" Matte and Brandon Matte; Jacob Daigle and Ryan Lavergne. An excellent gardener with a "green thumb," Mr. Labbie was devoted to his granddaughter and loved by his family. He will be sadly missed. Arrangements are being handled by Guidry Funeral Home, Inc.
