Church Point, La.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, La. for Rodney J. Fontenot, 92. Mr. Fontenot, a native of Church Point and long-time resident of Branch, La., died at 5:55 A.M. Thursday, October 10, 2013 at Acadia-St. Landry Guest Home in Church Point. Father Stephen Ugwu will conduct the services with entombment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum adjacent to the church.
Survivors include a son, Greg Fontenot and wife Susan Castille Fontenot of Branch; three grandchildren, Jeff Fontenot and wife Amanda of Broussard, La., Heather Fontenot Babineaux and husband Leighton of Branch and Emily Fontenot and fiancé Nick Dilly of Lafayette, La. and four great-grandchildren, Ashton Babineaux and Hunter, Grant and Addison Fontenot.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel Briscoe Fontenot.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 4:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Friday, October 11 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Saturday until the time of the services.
A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Friday by Father Ugwu.
